MY NEIGHBOR'S HOLLYWOOD GARDEN

I have another Jennifer to tell you about, my neighbor. Two different women two different stories. This Jennifer is English and has the most beautiful garden. She was kind enough to send over a few photos, although I am hoping to sneak over and take some of my own to share. Until then, I hope you enjoy these. There is always something blooming, singing, and smiling in her garden. Thanks Jennifer for the hard work and making Hollywood a more charming place. Hf, K

My Hollywood Neighborhood

When I started out on this rainy day my intent was to photogragh my favorite houses. In a seven block stretch between Waring and Romaine, La Brea and Vista there are what I call the classic old Los Angeles courtyard bungalow's. I have always loved this type of architecture, so before I knew it I drove around and found fourteen. Here they are, in the rain, some looking sad, a couple just plain depressing, and others beautiful and elegant.

My friend Jennifer

I met my friend Jennifer about fifteen years ago. I walked into an antique store by the name of Blakes located in West Hollywood and there she was. We connected. I liked her. She had wit, over the top taste, an eye for detail, knowlege of flora and fauna that any professor would envy. Over the years Jennifer has told me stories of her life. Born in Detroit in 1946, forty three of those years she's had been a different person. I know she was in the navy as a he, left dressed as a she, moved to the Tenderlion for a couple years until things got tough. She made it to Venice Beach and then to a mansion in the Hollywood Hills. All the while drugs and alcohol were woven into all the stories and many others that would always shock and amuse this kid from Texas. The mansion in the hills was supplied by "as she puts it a rich john" Many men, many, many men she would always say speaking of the past. As for the present she is out of the mansion, she's still an antique dealer, still a survivor, and still a creator. I like my friend Jennifer.

FW: msnbc.com: 'Family Ties' mom: 'I am a lesbian'

Nancy Locke and I go back many many years. We lived together in Santa Barbara and she's a damn good body surfer and the best crazy fun roommate anyone could ever have. If I can say anything about Nancy is that she's loyal. Meredith you are one lucky lady. Hf, Kev

'Family Ties' mom: 'I am a lesbian'
Meredith Baxter, the actress who played beloved mom Elyse Keaton on the '80s sitcom "Family Ties," tells Matt Lauer that she has been dating women for the past seven years. "It was a later-in-life recognition," she said.

My favorite store on Melrose.

Necromance has been located on Melrose as long as I can remember. I love it. The owner Nancy is a southerner like myself which explains the admiration of nature. Everything you need for a collector and more. I personally can't enter the store without falling into a reverie filled with childhood memories. This is the perfect spot to pick up a Christmas present for that bone collector in your life.
