Dear Mrs. Jordan,
I'm writing to you because of your son Mick's blog. Please allow me to explain, I started blogging about three months ago and in that time period I've seen and read hundreds of posts from the beautiful, the bad, and the intellectual. Many of them have been informative and visually interesting, but not one has had the effect on me as Mick's.
Like your son, I am from Texas, I now live in Hollywood and have for several years. I am a middle-aged man, an artist, and a designer. My partner and I have been together for more than twenty years, we work hard, are close to our families, and our values are intact. My life has been pretty good and at times you could say glamorous.
I wanted you to know I think " Everyone Goes to Mick's " is refreshing, genuine, and honest. Your son's talent is passionate and driven. He always has a strong point of view which drives the story line like a wild soap opera. We readers are right there with him. His situations many, many times make me laugh. You can not duplicate that kind of charm. Looking at his pictures and reading his posts bring me back to a more simple time, when I would  drive my father crazy blasting through creative endeavors no matter how many times he tried to stop me, or my life with my mother who let me paint a mural, on any wall, on any given day. Life was sweet, then. Although I've never met your son, I see myself in Mick and it's truly wonderful to go back, home. Thank you.

What a nice letter. I can only hope to let my children feel as free as your mother allowed you to feel. I'm going to have to head over to Mick's now!!

Love your mama!! Hopefully I've been close to that for my fab four. My grown daughter (see Blessed Henna under blogs/sites I follow) is working at earning her living through her art.

I've recently changed from the standard editor page to the "new" editor page. For some reason they don't have spell check on there. I googeled and found out if I spell something wrong it will underline it for me. Thanks for the help anyway!!

I just came upon your blog via 1950's Ranch and I just sat here reading and thinking, "That is NOT his house!" and then "That is NOT his studio!" And then when I read your letter to Mick's mom I decided I could be jealous of you AND love you! I've been following his blog almost since the day he started it and have often thought that if I'd ever wanted kids, Mick would've been the child for me. I'm hoping to get to the Casablanca in June. Will you be there????
