MY HOLLYWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD

That looks like Crescent Heights Blvd - but then again, so does much of L.A! Do you live in Hollywood proper or roundabout?

I shared a house on West 5th for a year (until I wanted to strangle the roomie), then Long Beach (robbed at gunpoint), then an apt in Studio City, then a little dump house in North Hollywood. Hey, it was only $700 a month!!

I miss Los Angeles so badly. Can you get me some pastrami with potato salad and matso ball soup from Canter's please? Or if it's more convenient, chopped chicken liver from Nate N' Al's? How about I just come down there and take you to the Pantry or Phillipes?

Ah, I miss it!!

Oh Barbara, Don't miss it to much. Hollywood proper it is, which has changed for the better over the years, it wasn't that long ago the only people in Hollywwod were tourist from Cleveland.

Plus we had no car and had to ride the bus--yuck! Our neighborhood looked much like yours and there was souch to look at architecture-wise. Memories . . .

a wealth of hidden treasures in l.a. neighborhoods if only one had a few lifetimes to dig them all out! i'd start with getting rid of the cars which can really cramp one's picture-taking style! another reason to learn photoshop!

what a wonderful place to live! For some reason when ever I think of California, I picture 2 kinds of houses... Bungalows, and the Monster houses in Brentwood and Sunset BLVD! haha

Love seeing your neighborhood. What are those weird connected trees? Can't wait to see the NY pics. Savannah is miserably hot. Hard to stay out long enough to take pictures.

I just found your blog through La Dolphina and Love it. Lots of pictures of little California cottages. Love them. I live in OKC in a home that is similar to those great 20s and 30s California cottages except here they are brick instead of stucco.

Love your house. Saw all the pictures on La Dolphina and knew I had to follow you.
