MY FRONT DOOR THING

I have this thing for front doors.  Here in this part of Hollywood and this is not the rich, fancy, I'm a famous producer part of Hollywood , there are front gates that equally make my thing list, supplying just the right amount of privacy for the not so rich and famous. Here are few around the neighborhood. The big mystery is one of the houses is occupied strangely enough by a very famous actress, which of course will remain nameless. But I'll give you some hints, Jack, Warren, and Steve. Just three hints kids, sorry to make it so hard. The last time I saw her she was pulling out of her driveway in a cream colored vintage Mercedes, she had wide brim straw hat, white gloves, a cream colored coat and the largest round sunglasses you have ever seen. She looked like a million trillion bucks.  I almost wrecked my car.

Wonderful photos. I love walking my neighborhood and taking pictures of gates, doorways, entryways, etc. I just recently met an elderly gentleman who was walking his dog. He lives in a house built in the 20's behind a big wrought iron gate. I was so curious about this place and he invited me in the gates for a tour of his lovely garden. It was so amazing.Great post Kevin. Thanks.

Great photos. Great Doors. Iwas obsessed with the front doors & entrances when I was in Venice (Italy, not CA).

Diane Keaton is my idol!

I think I will post about my front door. Will you look at it?

Kevin, I to love the mystic of doors. Who/what do they hide, who/what do they protect. Your pictorial presentation superb. - G

New Orleans and NYC are fun places to look at doors, too.

I always look at people's front doors when I drive by. I love when they have their door painted some funky color or if they have a beautiful display of flowers or plants.
As far as the star, I say it is Shirley McClaine and her gate is the one with the arbor and all the wrought iron vines.

I'd like to take this moment to say that I really enjoy your blog. I'm glad someone else is out there enjoying the small details in life. I like the repetition of a similar objects when shown in a group and how each object is different in its own way, making all the others seem different in their own ways. I also love the eclectic neighborhoods in California and appreciate that you are sharing them with us. Have a great day!

You guys I love each and every comment. It's nice to know I'm not the only one with a front door thing. Maybe the front door symbolizes the entrance to solving the mystery of what lies ahead. Stephen good guess,WRONG, Leslie good guess, WRONG! This is fun, guess again. And Janet what was your guess? Hint leading men stated. The winner receives coffee and cake at my house, silly huh.

I love all the doors but the one with the bougainvilla is my favorite. I have no clue who the actress is but my guess would be Ali MacGraw?

Hollywood forever, Kevin said...

Nice try Christine, WRONG! Ali is much more the Brentwood type. Hint no.2 Blonde.-------- Why am I having so much fun with this?

Honey, I'm pretty sure it's Diane Keaton. Gloves, has made movies with a Jack, Warren and a Steve. She has a Woody in her past as well.

I hear she's stunning in person too.

No Barbara, I wish it was Diane. We's to po fo her.------- OK last hint: my sister, my mother!

I was gonna say Michelle Phillips, too, given that she dated Jack and Warren both quite seriously...but Steve? Steve McQueen, maybe?

Wait a second...

Is it...?

IT FITS! Tuesday Weld?!!!! OMG!!!

Warren in Dobie Gillis, Cincy Kid with Steve, and A Safe Place with Jack!

This is so cool! *clapping hands*

Hollywood forever, Kevin said...

Oh Laura I'm sorry, WRONG! I do love Tuesday Weld and I so wish she lived in the neighborhood. I'm clapping as well, your detective work was wonderful. And J., (I know it's you Janet) you will get the cake and coffee even if you never get it right. In fact, Laura and you both can hit me over the head with the cake. Easy Hint no.3 with Warren she carried a gun, with Jack she lost a eye, with Steve she stole money.

Leslie said...

Faye Dunaway!!!!!

Hollywood forever, Kevin said...

We have a WINNER!!! Yes Leslie, you got it right. She was always one of my favorites and to move into this area many years ago had to take some guts, funky it was. So Leslie, the next time you are in Hollywood drop in for coffee and cake. AND ALL YOU OTHER WONDERFUL PEOPLE OUT THERE IN THE DARKNESS,wait thats from Sunset Blvd.-----Thanks for the comments it was fun.
