You guys are too nice, yes this is the sweet house we call home. It's a weird looking house I know. A box sitting on top of a Spanish Colonial. Back in the sixties the second owners inclosed the front porch altering the whole facade. But, don't get me started! I just feel lucky in these times to have a house, box on my roof or no box.
Oh...I think your house is charming. I didn't even think about that add on till you mentioned it. I just think it makes the house look quirky. Perhaps if its roof had a pitch to it? But still I think it looks fantastic. I like it when a house looks added on to over the years. That said...I do hate it when porches get enclosed. Glad you are back....I look so forward to your posts.
It is wonderful, and as Kathy said, charming. Charming is the first thing that came to my mind. If the header pic of your blog is your interior, it is just toooooo wonderful. Happy is as happy does.
i love your house! this is the first time, i think, that you have shown pictures like this. i love all the quirky details.
while i love where i live in the quiet town of redlands i must say that last weekend was so fun. there is an energy/zest for life in hollywood that was positively fascinating.
next time i visit, i'll have my driver pick you up and we'll do lunch!
Ah, there's no place like home. I love the lush landscaping around your house! I visited an earlier tour of your house and garden and especially enjoyed the aqua wall and tiki decorations. Thanks for sharing ... Mark
the plants are all looking very much at home. and i would not call it a "box". wouldn't it be much happier as a "tower"? and doesn't this all mean you get to look out but nobody gets to look in?

Real estate is just a location. You can make it anything you want. But it looks pretty nice from here. So different than houses on the East Coast.

Your houses, or houses like it, are one of the things I miss about Southern California. I love your garden!
