I had the strangest dream last night. I was at my desk and all around me were little creatures.
Little people with bird heads. Part animal, part human, these little creatures were.
Little people with bird heads. Part animal, part human, these little creatures were.
They were polite in their manner. They danced around in my stupor, whispering and giggling. I liked these little creatures at my desk.
They were strange indeed, but I was never scared. In my dream I could see my computer.
The little visitor's were hopping, flying, and even crawling out of the screen. I was amazed.
The box on my desk, all aglow, supplied these curiosities, to my delight.
It was a strange new world before me. All these little creatures and me.
My new little friends, they introduced themselves.
They spoke and said, Hello Kevin, our names are Temptation, and this here is Knowledge, and over there is Greed, and standing to your right is Lust, and behind him is Curiosity, and the tall girl there, her name is Convenience, and of course lets not forget our friend Fear. Just look into your screen and you will always find us.

A bit of Jan Svankmajer and a generous helping of the brothers Quay.

Well ain't that the truff!...Convenience and knowledge...so it isn't all bad...*winks* Vanna
Well, you can get anything in Hollywood, or so I hear. A dozen screenwriters probably share this sort of dream every other night
Great shots, by the way; I'll be adding you to my blog list
All best,
B
I had a similar dream but it was brought on by an impacted wisdom tooth and oxycet! Beautiful pictures... magical.
Loving these photographs...

These are great photographs, Kevin. They remind me, through their subject matter and particular lighting, of the paintings of Donald Roller Wilson. Are you familiar with him?
Thanks for the wonderful comments you guys, it really, really means a lot to know you guys are out there. This series is a rainy day in the studio with my camera and some feathered friends. The narrative is my coffee induced attempt at a metaphor. Maybe I should stick to plain reporting. And thank you, Scott and Mark for the links I'll check them.
I like the bird with the doll head but then I feel guilty about it. I don't like imagining you taking apart taxidermy animals and murdering little vintage dollies. I do love the strangeness of it all. But I have friends that would be reporting you to the authorities. These same friends say I am welcoming the devil into my house with all my Halloween decor. (so they are a bit rigid and republican) Come to think of it...they aren't very good friends. Love that header image...I remember it from Valentines.
Kevin, they really are extraordinary, stunning frankly...
No! Don't stick to plain reporting, I love the creativity of this posting - although it may give me nightmares!
This is what happens when you go to house sales which have such strong and strange echoes of other peoples lives - that odd little 'Eros' photo.
I have chills, Kevin! These are fabulous. Utterly fabulous. I would step into your dreamworld anytime. The first photo had me gasping. We are - pardon the expression - birds of a feather. Beautiful, beautiful work.
Thanks for sharing your dreamworld.
I've had images of seagulls in my world this week. Have uploaded to youtube. I haven't put it on my blog yet, but here is the link:

It's a little pixelated when enlarged. I'd never made one before.
Sweet dreams,
Catherine
Is your roommate David Sedaris? You and he have a thing for taxidermied stuff!! Weird, yet awesome.
Be my stylist.
Fascinating Kevin! I love when I can remember my dreams!
I do have a Giveaway from The Zhush I know you will love!
