It's tax time, so if anyone is thinking of striking out on your own, think about it long and hard. This the only time of the year that I hate my life and want to be somewhere else. In fact, I want to be in this bar, with friends, in the rain, drinking bourbon, on Bourbon Street, in the Quarter. We'll talk later, back to the paper work.

Kevin, greetings from downunder!
We have 10% GST added to almost everything we buy or import into Australia.
Everything we ourselves sell we have to remit 10% by way of GST quarterly with a BAS statement.
And every June we have annual tax to remit on our earnings after expenses - all this disclosure means that we must have an electronic system in place, date entry of every piece of claimable expense, the one thing is; once it is all in its a push-button report to say how much they are going to takeaway from you annually.
What's more drinks and entertainment isn't deductable! (I need a strong drink too)
As a freelancer working/living in 2 states, I agree that this time of the year sucks. I owe everyone!
...Vodka and coffee should be deductible....
Kevin,
But you have to admit that this time of year sees some of the best fiction penned annually. I for one produce a lovely piece of tragic – comedy. – G
Whenever I hate my life, there's only one place I ever want to be: living in LA in a Hollywood bungalow!
yeah a nice drink seems such a better idea!
I couldn't agree more! Too bad I gave up drinking.
I shared a bourbon in that bar with my love and cobwebs a couple hundred years old....wonder if katrina washed them away...
I hear you Kevin, oh how I hear you.
I'm in!
Yes, death and taxes...they both suck. I was drowning in paper this past weekend while it poured rain...and there was no boubon to be had!
One of my favorite bars, too! I was just talking about New Orleans five minutes ago.

I love Lafite's...the sazeracs always defeat me.
I would love to have whiskey with you in that very bar!
