Oh...my gosh! I love these. I've seen ship and horse ones before but none of the others. The one with the birds...I'd love to have on my roof. Another great post!
I luv the weather vanes my favorite is the plane that one is cool. It makes me want to climb that roof and borrow it. I never seen one like that one. Thanks for sharing....Julian
What an absolutely outstanding offering of weathervanes you have posted. While I would be most happy with any you pictured here I am really attracted to the Moon / Star / Musical Notes. I have been humming “Mr. Sandman” since viewing it. Thanks for sharing these most unique roof top adornments. – G
Hello Kevin: These are both unusual and of interest, particularly to observe what designs people have chosen to adorn their roof tops. All such fun and, as you say, of an execution unlikely to be repeated in modern times.
They are so charming! What neighborhood is that? Who knew LA had weather vanes? I sure didn't. See, you're educating the masses! Thanks for the kind comment on my blog!! I have just gotten back to taking pictures now that I have a bit more time, but it seems like everyone forgot me :( So your words are especially encouraging. :) Diane

Those are quite fabulous! What a gorgeous accessory to have on a rooftop. I love the one with the two birdlike creatures. Great post.

With these, you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows...

Great post Kevin. Weather vanes are new to me as we don't really have them back home in Austalia. So many different shapes and sizes.
Love love love weathervanes! Never realized their popularity in Hollywood! How fascinating!
Kevin I adore weather vanes and have a rabbit vane on top of my bookcase (as I live in a condominium)

I guess I had never considered before that people will decorate anything. Even the tippy-toppy of their house! My favorite is the airplane.

I'm fascinated. Now I'm going to be a weathervane freak. Like I need another passion!
