Sometimes, if you are lucky and the stars align and the gods of shopping shine upon you, you look down and rolled up in the corner is a perfectly worn rug, just the way you like them. You take it to the counter and again your treasure hunting luck is sprinkled with fairy dust, for the cashier states 5 dollars. So for 5 dollars and some odd cents, you have a new antique rug, and you say to yourself, there is a god.

really. is there any better feeling? I found one of my own this week, about the same size. only the shop dude said, 'forty dollars.' ugh. I wanted to hear 'twenty bucks.' If he'd have said 'five dollars' I would have turned a cartwheel! mine didn't come home with me. glad yours did...donna

I love worn rugs, the older the better and this is a beauty. Like Betsy said I always try to imagine where a rug has been and what it has seen.

Stupendous! Where will you put it? Do you have a place picked out or will it go from room to room until you find the perfect spot? And will you photograph it in its new home? I hope so. I really need to keep myself far away from estate sales and thrift stores. It's sooo hard when I see posts like this.
